Easter Day

Easter Day here was honestly such a perfect day. The weather was just right, went to church and celebrated, went to brunch on the river, had an Easter Egg hunt at Tom and Candace's house, and then had a relaxing night. What a great day! Daddy and B headed to brunch.
Family pic!

Mom and I
Brooke loves "twirling" and dancing like a princess (as she calls it). She looks so sweet and angelic..we love watching her. She loves to put her hands up like a ballerina and dance on her tippy toes.
Dancing before brunch!

Easter Egg hunt at Melaina's. How cute is Melaina in her Snow White dress!! The Easter bunny brought that to her. :)

Finding eggs!

If you know Roxy, then you will like this....

A little over a week ago, the day that Mom Mom Suz came into town, I took Roxy (our dog) with me to the grocery store to take her for a ride. For those of you who don't know Roxy, she is 1/2 yellow lab and 1/2 rottweiler and truly a very sweet dog. She is about 80 pounds of solid muscle but wouldn't hurt a fly but will jump on you and you may get some piddle on your feet. :) She is easily excited and LOVES people. When we take her to the dog park she could care less about the dogs and just goes up to all the people. Back to the story.... so I did my grocery shopping and then was headed out of the store with the grocery store employee who was helping me out (our grocery store always has someone take and load your bags in the car- it is wonderful!). I politely asked the employee to please put my all of my bags in the front seat since my dog was in the back seat. In the meantime Roxy had jumped from the very back of our SUV to the front seat so when they opened the door, Roxy jumped out! At first I thought it was no big deal and for a second was kidding myself to think she would listen to me to get back in the car until she took off and ran straight INSIDE THE GROCERY STORE! Yep... doors automatically open and there she went. I immediately opened a box of granola bars I had just bought and went on my way to get her. Keep in mind, I am 7 months pregnant and my running is something to laugh at right now. I run in calling Roxy's name and realize that everyone is pretty much standing still with eyes wide open. Roxy ran in and then took a left in front of all of the check out areas and then proceeded to run to the opposite side of the store down the ice cream isle. This is where I suckered her to me with the granola bar. I grabbed her collar and lead her out of the store while saying my apologies over and over again! Everyone in there was so nice about it... I have to admit that I got in the car and was dying laughing! You have no idea how many stories we have from this dog and this is just another to add to the collection!! Gotta love her... I'm thinking about asking our grocery store for the security footage so I can see how hilarious I looked running through there. Oh Roxy....

Mom Mom Suz's Visit

Mom Mom Suz came to visit last week and it was such a blast! The weather was awesome (except for 1 day) and we did lots of fun things outdoors! We went to the parks, lunches outside, zoo, dinners, and really enjoyed each others company! We miss you!! Brooke chowing on her pizza downtown. We had to wait for her to finish because she would not stop eating!! (by the way, that is not like Brooke...she barely eats!)
Snuggling with Roxy while she had a free moment. My girls. :)

Mom Mom Suz and B on the swing set! This is by far her favorite thing to do. She would swing all day if I let her!
Daddy met us at the zoo... so fun that he could be there with us!
Looking at the monkeys!

Yummy ice cream!

Egg Hunt Practice!

It has been so much fun teaching Brooke all about hunting for Easter Eggs. We have hid them in the house and now had a practice run at a friends house too. 4 of us girls get together often with our kiddos (all within 5 months of each other) and this past week we went to Julie's house where she had an Egg Hunt. The kids had a blast hunting eggs and then frosting cupcakes and eating them! YUM! I'm not going to lie...it was hard to get her to stop eating all the yummy candy in the eggs!! :) This girl definitely has my sweet tooth! Brooke and Melaina blowing bubbles!
M, Thomas, and B ... trying to get a picture of all 4 kids is IMPOSSIBLE!! :)

Yeah..there's an egg!

Another one!
Candace and Melaina (by the way, Candace is 26 weeks pregnant!)
Julie and Thomas (by the way, Julie is 15 weeks prego!)

Springtime Fun!

You gotta love this time of year when you get to peel off the winter shell and feel the warmth of the sun beating down. We are still having some chilly days but overall, Spring is here!! We are all like little flowers, putting our heads up to the sun every time we're outside. It's always great to see all the neighborhood kids out again. It reminds me of when I was growing up in Mississippi and we would ride our bikes and hang out on our street till our Moms yelled for us to come home for dinner. That is the same feel here and I love it.

Brooke loves hanging out with the neighborhood kids...
Playing outside ...had to have her leggings on, dress, princess wings, and sweatshirt. I just missed getting a picture of her wearing her fireman hat too!
Hanging with the big kids...

At the zoo last week...they have a great playground inside the zoo.

Luke, B, and Thomas on the gator! (Luke not so thrilled about the pic!)
Thomas being a gentleman.
Pizza lunch date!
At the park with Tom, Candace, and Melaina...
Melaina!
So sweet...
At a birthday party that was held at the local batting cages. One of our neighbors own it and they had one of the cages set up so that little ones like Brooke could hit! So fun...she did great!

No More Diapers!!

We are so excited and quite honestly still in shock that our little girl is no longer wearing diapers!! I feel like this is such a huge milestone because she has now gone from little girl to big girl!! I started the whole potty training process on Friday and she caught on right away! By Tuesday, she was off to school with her big girl undies and had a great day of using the potty there. We no longer are using diapers during her naps or bedtimes...so this chick is diaper free! YEAH....we are so proud of her!! It will be great when our new baby girl is here that they both won't be in diapers. WHEW!

This is a picture of her eating some "treats" after school on Tuesday. (I have spared you the pics of her sitting on her potty!!) :)

It's a.......

GIRL!! We are SO thrilled that we are going to have 2 daughters!! There is such a special bond between siblings and I certainly know the sister bond. I am so excited for Brooke and this baby to grow up with each other!! Sitting in the ultrasound and seeing our healthy baby girl...there is no better feeling than hearing that everything looks great. Scott and I were holding hands and just praying that this little person is healthy and growing. She was moving all around and showing us how strong she is. We feel so blessed and cannot wait to meet her!!! 20 weeks!!
